No injuries that I know of resulted on this play, which is good.
What was not good was Florida's reaction to the play. Florida decided that the play was worthy of a suspension................the 1st half of the Vanderbilt game! WTF?!?!?!?! There is nothing a play like this could do other than ruin a kids career. NOTHING! Don't give me any kind of "heat of the moment" argument. In the heat of the moment you might shove a guy, punch a guy, yell something nasty at a guy. But you are NOT going to gouge an eye out!!
To top it all off, the SEC looked at the Florida punishment and said.....seems fair. WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!
If LaGarrette Blount was suspended for the season by Oregon for this play, Spikes deserves a lot more than one quarter.
They're preparing him for the kinds of consequences he will have to face for his actions when he's in the NFL
